Position: Quality Assurance Technician

Location: Finland

What do we do?

ICEYE is building and operating its commercial constellation of small Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites with SAR data available to customers. Our satellites acquire images of Earth at any time even when it’s cloudy or dark providing commercial and government partners with unmatched persistent monitoring capabilities. Information derived from our SAR images helps customers make data-driven decisions to address time-critical challenges in various sectors, such as maritime, disaster management, insurance, and finance.

ICEYE is looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join the ICEYE team.

What you will do:

  • Conduct thorough visual and dimensional inspections on mechanical parts, commercial-off-the-shelf items, subsystems, and the spacecraft, utilizing specialized tools and instruments.
  • Effectively update material statuses in the ERP system, ensuring accurate inspection findings and material disposition records.
  • Proactively identify and report non-conformances to the Quality Assurance team, facilitating root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring defects.
  • Prepare comprehensive and timely reports on outstanding issues related to inspected components, highlighting potential risks and recommending corrective measures.
  • Develop and review inspection and test procedures, ensuring alignment with ICEYE's quality standards and best practices.
  • Scrutinize hardware configurations to identify discrepancies and ensure adherence to technical specifications.
  • Maintain the organization's scrapping procedure, ensuring timely and efficient disposal of nonconforming materials.
  • Continuously monitor production, storage, and laboratory environments to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Actively participate in process improvement initiatives, contributing to continuously enhancing ICEYE's quality assurance practices.

Requirements

Must have:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in quality assurance or a related field, demonstrating expertise in hardware inspection and quality control procedures.
  • Relevant qualifications, e.g., college degree/diploma in mechanical, quality assurance, or manufacturing.
  • Proven hardware inspection experience (e.g., materials, parts, assemblies, subsystems, systems).
  • A robust analytical mindset and ability to identify and resolve defects effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, ensuring clear and concise documentation of inspection findings and recommendations.
  • Unwavering commitment to quality-oriented manufacturing and meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of work.

Preferred to have:

  • Prior experience in the aerospace or defense industry, providing a deeper understanding of industry-specific quality standards and regulations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
