LocalBitcoins is looking for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join its team in Helsinki as a substitute during maternity leave. The COO is a key member of the Executive Team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and closely collaborating with other teams incl. Tech, Compliance, Marketing and other stakeholders. Our ideal candidate has extensive experience within the Cryptocurrency Industry, perhaps having worked your way up through the ranks to your role as a leader. We believe this trajectory helps develop a unique mix of business and management expertise, plus proficiency with the practices.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 50 highly-performing professionals
- Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met
- Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management
- Carry out constant analysis of current efficiency of business processes and work on their improvements, design and implement new processes.
- Establish policies that promote company culture and vision
- Represent the company as required, including attendance of industry events and public meetings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or related field
- 3+ years experience in a leadership position
- Experience with working in a fast paced/startup environment, ideally in the cryptocurrency/blockchain space
- Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities, ability to effectively lead and communicate with diverse teams and various departments
- An understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues
- Knowledge of KYC processes and financial crime investigations
- Excellent presentation and communication skills; demonstrated ability to be an outgoing spokesperson
- Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
- A solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics
- Personal integrity
