Job Description
In this role, you get to solve the challenges at global scales and impacting the experience of hundreds millions of users. You will also lead and work with talented researchers in advancing the technologies to create state-of-the-art and novel solution for Petal Search.
- Define the research roadmap and lead the research in FaceAI, FashionAI, Video Understanding, Multimodal Search, Object Recognition, etc.
- Lead the research team to deliver state-of-the-art models for productions with novel methods, algorithms, empirical studies and out-of-the-box thinking.
- Innovate on new visual search ideas and implement the proof-of-concept.
- Work with headquarter in defining the requirements and prepare proposals for the research projects.
- Attract and recruit top search and computer vision talents
- Build the competence of teams in computer vision by continuous research and evaluation of emerging technologies, staying current on published state-of-the-art computer vision methods, technologies, and applications, driving patent activities and publish to top conferences.
- Establish joint lab and research projects with top universities.
Requirements
Minimum Qualification
- PhD in Computer Vision, Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Proven experience as an academic leader and delivering cutting-edge scientific research results
- A large number of good quality publications in top conferences.
- Experience collaborating on projects involving multiple teams, managing an ongoing relationship with different groups, national or EU level projects.
- Experience in machine learning, deep learning research in computer vision related to visual search, such as face recognition, object detection, image classification, image segmentation.
Preferred Qualification:
- Experience with building a joint laboratory between academic and industry
- Experience with end-to-end modeling.
- Experience with large scale PyTorch/TensorFlow projects.
- Experience with training large scale systems on large data sets.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
